OBO Vintage Bowie Knife Sheath & Concealed Leather Harness in Racine, WI

Quality fixed blade bowie knife made in Italy by G.C.CC. Gutmann Cutlery Company of Solingen Germany # 372 approx total length 12" full tang blade nearly 7 1/4" long, width 1 1/4" with a nice curve and false edge, approximately 1950?s some light scrape marks, light tarnish and scuffs. The leather handle 4.5" is stacked leather washers with ergonomic finger grooves well loved and good condition. The knife is well balanced with a good feel. With a beautifully tooled quality leather shoulder harness and sheath as an alternative method to carrying this nicely proportioned knife, to get it off your hip for more ease of use and carry in or out of the field. Background: Gutmann Cutlery was a large importer of quality knives that began operations in the late 1940's, although they didn't start importing from Germany until 1950. From the 1950's through about the 1980's, Gutmann imported knives primarily from Solingen, Germany and later began importing knives from Italy and Japan. Their knives were always of excellent quality and they tended to select high-quality makers. These knives are of excellent quality and are really "sleepers" when it comes to the performance and value they offer. They're also not cheap knives by any means and current prices certainly reflect that.
