1999 Chevrolet Astro Van MAKE OFFER! in Waldport, OR

As you can see from the pictures, this Van is in great shape. I am selling it for my brother, but I have the title, keys and registration. He told me that 3rd gear had started to slip, upon checking I found that the transmission was extremely low on fluid and added some. We moved it to my house and then took it for a test drive, it does slip in 3rd gear, however you can shift from 2nd to Drive easily. The only real problem that I know of, is the passenger window does not work. We are asking for $600 but PLEASE make an offer, the first serious(decent) offer will drive it away! The tags are good until September of 2012.
The first test drive went excellent, no shifting problems at all. I ran the van down the road for an additional test run, 3rd did start to slip. It will shift just fine from 2nd to Drive, and since the problem is intermitant, it may not be the transmission, it could be a alignment problem in the gear box or timing chain, or with the shifting linkage. Or it could be the transmission. The price for a tranny is between $150-$400 depending on new or used and whether you can do the work or pay someone else. the other possible problems with 3rd gear range between $60- $275 and are best left to a certified mechanic as they have the proper tools and reference material to garuntee that it is fixed.
